therealdeal.com – Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors is again looking to plug itself into 860 Washington in the Meatpacking District.
The electric car manufacturer is again negotiating to take a 11,000-square-foot, ground-floor retail space at Romanoff Equities and Property Group Partners’ 860 Washington Street, the New York Post reported.
Tesla had reportedly been the lead contender for the space late last year. But coffee giant Starbucks muscled in, with a plan to lease both the space Tesla was looking at and the floor above it. Starbucks eventually settled on a 20,000-square-foot space at the planned Vornado Realty Trust and Aurora Capital Associates’ 61 Ninth Avenue.
