‘Play the cards you’re dealt’ is Gerard’s motto

independent.ieA Listowel journalism student is gearing up for the launch of his first book which shines a light on a host of celebrities and well known faces who have faced crisis situations and come out the other side.

‘Play The Cards You’re Dealt’ was compiled by UL student Gerard Mulvihill and features 21 stories from public figures from the world of business, fashion, sport and comedy.

There is a strong Kerry emphasis in the book with contributions from both Fionnbar and Emma Walsh – parents of the late Donal – as well as world-renowned fashion designer and Ballyheigue native Don O’Neill. Other contributors include Sunday Times chief sports writer, David Walsh, who was faced with many obstacles and much hostility while pursuing the truth in relation to cyclist Lance Armstrong.
