esquire.com – President Obama announced today that he is endorsing Hillary Clinton for President of the United States. In a video released by Clinton’s campaign, he referred to her as “the presumptive nominee” and suggested “there has never been someone so qualified to hold this office.”
The announcement followed Obama’s meeting with Clinton’s Democratic primary opponent, Bernie Sanders, at the White House earlier today. Sanders emerged from that powwow promising to help Clinton defeat presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, but did not say he was withdrawing from the race.
