Trump’s Contempt for Judges Isn’t a Defect. It’s a Feature of Republican Politics.

esquire.comI, too, am horrified by the ways and the means of He, Trump’s attack on federal judge Gonzalo Curiel, the Hoosier currently sitting in judgment of the long con known as Trump University. I am shocked. I am also dismayed.

What I am not is surprised.

Part of the conservative brand within the Republican Party has been to attack the integrity of the judicial process, and of the individual judges working within it, every time a decision comes down that sets the flying monkeys aloft. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear, to one of the worst and most egregious examples of wingnut meddling: the interference in the case of the late Terri Schiavo, as told by a disreputable author of my casual acquaintance.
