balls.ie – Irish fans are already congregating in Bordeaux ahead of Saturday afternoon’s crucial Group E clash against Belgium and one of the most popular spots already called the Connemara Irish Pub had to shut down for two hours tonight.
The bar staff were flat-out all day – and such was the demand for drink that the overworked cooling mechanism in the pub started to overheat.
Speaking to the Irish Independent, bar manager Paddy Jackson said:
“It’s not like we are calling a day, just a small break. A decision was made to stop serving drinks between 9.30pm and 11.30pm. We pulled so many pints during the day that the coolers, they started to get warm. It was non-stop for nine hours.”
