therealdeal.com – Compass isn’t just after the grizzled veterans of New York City’s brokerage world.
The venture-backed startup recently hired the Corcoran Group’s 2015 Rookie of the Year, Danielle Lurie. A graduate of Stanford University, Lurie previously worked as a writer and director in Hollywood. She got into residential brokerage last year, when she closed $25 million worth of deals.
While she may not handle the big-ticket listings coveted by her experienced peers, Lurie has handled a steady stream of $1 million deals to date, many in Brooklyn, including the recent sale of 122 West Street in Greenpoint for $1.1 million and the sale of a co-op at 235 Lincoln Place in Park Slope for $1.4 million, according to StreetEasy.
