balls.ie – For most of the second half between Mayo and Fermanagh at MacHale Park, it looked like the Connacht side were heading out of the Championship.
Fermanagh held a six-point lead at the half though were reeled in by a Mayo side who had the wind behind them in the second 35 minutes.
With less than seven minutes left – and Fermanagh still leading by a point – Mayo were awarded a penalty by referee Joe McQuillan.
Aidan O’Shea received a nudge in the back. For a man of O’Shea physique he went down incredibly easily.
